Hello. My full name is Uloaku Precious Amaechi. I was born at 3:15am with my twin sister. I was born in a low-income family of nine in San Francisco, California. Growing up was hard enough. I got ridiculed by peers because of my African accent.
What does this have to do with schizophrenia?
What is schizophrenia?
Due to my trauma/experiences, I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. A thought disorder in the brain.
My dream is to be a spokesperson for individuals who find struggle in speaking up for themselves in spite of their disability.
What does an average day for someone with schizoaffective disorder look like?
7:00AM
you could be doing everything you can possibly do to get better... And it is STILL not enough. Medication, exercise, rehab, are ALL good activities to do to manage the symptoms... but it never goes away. Having schizophrenia makes me feel like the whole world is about to end. Like the only answer to my problems is violence. I deal with auditory hallucinations.
Schizophrenia takes the lives of many innocent people every year. Even with technological advances, schizophrenia is still a mystery to figuring out.
